The Evolution of Java Persistence: Java EE 7 and Beyond

The Java Persistence API (JPA) is the Java standard for relational database access and JPA continues to evolve with the new 2.1 revision providing a key component of Java EE 7.  The open source EclipseLink project is the JPA 2.1 reference implementation and along with support for the new standard features, EclipseLink includes innovative features including RESTful data access, NoSQL database support, and JSON binding.  In this session we’ll introduce JPA 2.1, EclipseLink’s advanced features, and Oracle TopLink’s Data Service feature that extends EclipseLink RESTful services with data change push notification over WebSockets and Server Sent Events (SSE).
